Under the mistletoe

I really wanted to be the first girl Liam ever kissed under mistletoe, I guess I will just have to settle for being the first girl who ever kissed him =)

Heaven and random toys….

Have you ever listened to a song that makes you feel like your getting a little taste of heaven? The song He Reigns by the Newsboys has to be a little taste of what heaven is going to be like. I love absolutely blasting it and singing along at the top of my voice. Of course I only do that in front of Liam who, incidentally, made his scared face and almost cried. Ha! Anyways that song makes my heart yearn for my one true home and to sing to the Lord for eternity!

I have been giving Liam lots of household items to play with lately, it is so fun to watch him get so much amusement out of random household items….here are a few pictures.

This is a first, he has started sucking on his toes...ewww

So thankful that Scott loves to give Liam baths so I can clean up after dinner!

Last Sunday, Scott and I spent the afternoon raking the leaves. Now for those of you who know me well, you know that I don’t do anything on Sunday afternoon but take a nap, so it was quite the sacrifice for me. Also I do not think I have ever done yard work, and yes I am aware of how hoity-toity that sounds. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and we got them up in the nick of time too! Minutes after we finished the rain let loose.

Scott got in the trashcan and squished them down

I had my Flock girls over last night for a Christmas party, it was a great time! We watched White Christmas, ate HOMEMADE pizza (yes Taylor, you can make pizza from scratch =), decorated Christmas cookies, and they loved on Liam.

Thank you Loren and Taylor for my new outfit!

I liked all those girls around =)

Thanksgiving!

We had a whirlwind of family for Thanksgiving this year and I got to host! It was so much fun! I loved every moment of the cooking and cleaning. I don’t know how it would have all gotten done if Scott hadn’t taken the rest of his paternity leave, he was such a help!

We had my Grandpa and Memaw (Liam’s great grandparents), my parents (Babu and Bibi), Michael and Naomi (Uncle Michael and Auntie Nay-Nay), and Auntie Stacey (a very close family friend from Africa) we even met up with her brother and his wife (Stephen and Anna).

My parents and Stacey stayed with us, they of course wanted to be around for Liam’s golden hours in the early morning. My grandparent’s, brother, and sister-in-law stayed at a family friend’s house who were out of town.

Babu feeding Liam his breakfast in the new booster seat they got Liam for Christmas. I love it!

Memaw could not stand to let Liam fuss, "that baby needs rocked"
I let her spoil him...

He was out like a light!

Thanksgiving day I woke up early to start the cooking….everything turned out really well! I am especially proud of my turkey! I cooked it with cheesecloth and basted it every half hour for 2 ½ hours…it was so good….very moist. Good job me! (that is my self-talk dad…wink wink)

My bird!

My bird and bread...okay I was pretty proud of my bread too!

So pretty!

The spread

The day after Thanksgiving we all BARTed into San Francisco to watch the Christmas tree be lit in Union square. It was madness...but the city was beautiful!

The famous four together again, surprisingly, we opted not to choke one another this time

Yay...beautiful...lets go home now!

A trip to Oregon

Recently we got to go on a family vacation to visit friends up in Oregon! It was lots of fun to get away and Margo did such a good job setting up our room it felt like a bed and breakfast…there were even chocolates on our pillows!!!

The trip up was a 10 hour drive, Liam did wonderfully! Could not have asked for anything better! As we drove over the pass between Oregon and California it snowed! It was so beautiful and we turned on Christmas music. We also listened to audio theatre, the story of Corrie Ten Boom. I had never heard it before, it was really excellent!

It was great to catch up with friends and watch the babies play. Liam loved all of Juliet’s toys. We took a road trip to Mount Hood and the Multnomah falls. One of my favorite days was in the city of Portland, we went to a bookstore called Powell's that was an entire city block! I even found Astrix and Obelix, a cartoon book that was part of me and my brother’s childhood! We did lots of Christmas shopping…no sales tax in Oregonwhoo hoo!

Scott wanted a "no baby" picture

It was absolutely beautiful up there

Daddies' and their babies
(Juliet would smile so easily! Not so with Liam!)

The drive down Liam was still a champ. In Redding we stopped to change his diaper, put him in jammies, and have him go to sleep for the night. It was so COLD! We were changing him and he was screaming because he was so cold….broke my heart…so I cranked the car heat to warm him back up. I haven’t heard him cry like that since he was a newborn.
