Sickness...

Well this has not been the greatest week…Liam had/has his first virus. He had/is having high fevers, we are getting little sleep, and we have to give him tepid baths. Seeing his little body shiver seems so wrong. Last night we had to give him one at midnight…it was horrible.

We took him to a doctor on Thursday and she said it wasn’t an ear infection and that it must be a virus, of course he had no fever when we went to the doctor.

Seeing your child suffering is like no experience I have ever had. It is absolutely heartbreaking and exhausting. It has increased my prayer for others who have children who are truly suffering, not with a virus but with diseases that are threatening their lives. Not to mention, the Lord sending his own Son to suffer and die for us, and being glad to do so! I am so thankful to God that Liam has gone almost a full 7 months without being sick.

Sorry there are no pictures my camera is charging. But Liam is saying “Mama” clearly, I don’t think he knows what he is saying…but it is so sweet. Scott is very jealous, “He is supposed to say Da-Da first!” He does say “Ba-Ba” which means dad in Swahili, but that doesn’t quite cut it for Scott.

The Holidays!!!!

Well Christmas and New Years flew by and I am sad to say I didn’t really take many pictures!

We spent Christmas Eve with Scott’s extended family in San Carlos. It was a very nice time! We had a typical white elephant…we got a new calendar entitled, “a year of advice from President Obama” so if you need any advice be sure to let me know =). Originally I had four movie tickets by my dear sister in law decided to nick them from me, alas I got stuck with Obama.

Scott had a Christmas miracle this Christmas; somehow I decided to surprise him with a Wii. What was I thinking? I have no idea, but I will confess I have been on it with him an awful lot. Tetris Party, bowling and tennis are a blast!

Liam of course made out like a bandit…clothes, toys; you name it he got it. I ordered him a bunch of Christmas Classic’s on DVD. I grew up on them and am a sucker for Frosty, today we watched Frosty. I think it was really Liam’s first time watching TV. He was so excited when the kids were cheering for Frosty, his little body was shaking and his arms up in the air as he let out a high pitched squeal. It was precious!

Liam and his loot!

I made out pretty good too! A new coat, I am now worthy to go into the city, I have a long black coat. Running gear, catch me if you can daddy-o! We will have to have a race when I come visit.=) I also got some books. My friend Amy recommended The Mother at Home by John S.C. Abbott. Whew weezers it is severe! Very sobering but in a very good way, I have only read the first chapter but it is one of those books that makes your heart fall on its knees before a mighty God and plead to be a worthy mother.

We took Liam to see Santa at the mall

Yeah...getting him to smile was tough and he spit up on his vest =(

New Years we enjoyed with our next door neighbors. We had appetizers and played games, incidentally our house got toilet papered for the first time too that night! Hmmmm…..wonder who could have done it? My guess would be some certain friends who had to leave the party early….WENSLAWSKIS!

Anniversary….

Scott and I have been married three years now….ha…that sounds like a little bit of nothing to me! But they have been three great years. Scott took me to Morton’s The Steakhouse for dinner. We rode BART in, watched a movie, and then indulged….wow so much food! Scott got the fillet mignon, bacon wrapped scallops, and a baked potato. I got fillet mignon, crab cake, and jumbo asparagus with hollandaise sauce. The baked potato was so huge! We ended up splitting it and only ate one asparagus =). Then we had a lava cake for dessert and coffee. The server even brought a live lobster to our table when he was telling us about the menu, Scott wouldn’t let me take a picture =). It was a great way to celebrate! We have officially started our fourth year of marriage….I am so thankful for a husband who is patient with me, faithful to take us to church, and reads the bible with me XOXXO
